About the Event
After 51 years in the Charolais business, John Rudiger, a Canadian pioneer in the white breed, dispersed his herd of Full French cattle Nov. 18, 2009. Rudiger is known in international cattle circles for his cow wisdom and promotion of Charolais cattle and a pioneer in the Alberta Beef and Cattle Industry. John “JR” Rudiger bought his first Charolais in 1958 when he was farming at Cut Knife, Saskatchewan. They have sold cattle all over the world and supplied bulls to the commercial sector. Today, Rowana tends to the Ranch as 2021 will bring a close to this amazing chapter in history, as the Ranch is being developed into a new community for families that will create their own cherished memories.
2020 marked an Honorary Year for Rudiger Ranch, where they were to receive a tribute from the Charolais Society. COVID-19 stopped that in 2020 but not in 2021. Now working with An Affair to Remember Catering, the Charolais Society and the Rudiger Family, and by using approved COVID-19 mandates, we can have a private outdoor/open air tribute at the Ranch.
